Chicken (Ayam) Betutu
Food From Bali – Betutu is cooked slowly in Bali. Suitable for those who don’t eat pork, this Balinese specialty consists of a whole chicken (chicken) or duck (bebek) stuffed with traditional spices, wrapped in banana leaves, then wrapped tightly in banana peel. The whole thing is grilled or simmered in a coal fire for 6 to 7 hours, resulting in rich, juicy meat that falls off the bone easily.

Food From Bali – Babi guling is an all-time favorite, consisting of roast pork stuffed with rich traditional spices and a mixture of vegetables such as cassava leaves, gently rolled (Gulling means “to roll” in Indonesian) over a coal fire.
The crunchy brown skin is prized, while the flesh is tender and juicy. Initially, suckling pig was a typical community food during celebrations and special ceremonies, but you can find it in many warung (food stalls) and restaurants that specialize in this dish.

Food From Bali – Satay (or satay) is marinated, skewered, and grilled meat, served with a spicy sauce. The meat usually consists of diced or sliced chicken, beef, and pork, but you can also find satay made from fish, tofu, eggs, or a mixture of minced meat.
The Balinese variant is satay lilit. Made from minced beef, chicken, fish, pork, or even turtle meat, mixed with coconut, coconut milk, and a rich blend of vegetables and spices. The satay is then wrapped around bamboo sticks, sugar cane or lemongrass before being grilled over charcoal. You can enjoy satay lilit with or without dipping sauce.
